It all started with a quarter-column article. Within a week, twenty newspapers had reprinted it, and from that moment on, the story took on a life of its own.

It's with shots like these that legends begin. Anything can leave a mark on the water—a boat, the wind, a fish—but it's always attributed to a monster.

The depth here is over two hundred meters, the water dark with peat. Underwater visibility is just a meter. That's why nothing has been found there yet.

I'm collecting the points where the messages originated. More than half of them are from a single stretch of road, just convenient for stopping.
