Every home has one. Mine now has a rule: if it goes in twice without being used, it leaves.

Three things I kept in case. In case never came, and the shelf was doing more work than the objects.

Same method in all three rooms: empty one surface completely, then decide what earns its way back.

Not productive, not aesthetic. Just an hour where nothing is being optimised, which is the point.

I moved one chair to the light and stopped needing a morning routine. That was the whole change.
